Resident of Middlebury, Vt.; grew up in Cornwall, Vt., the daughter of Abram W. Foote, a farmer and politician and the youngest of eight children; attended Middlebury College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine, from 1921-1925, the first woman to do so. Her medical career as a psychiatrist was in Massachusetts and Vermont before retirement in Middlebury in the family home. She is author of several books.
